Recognizing a shortage of qualified hydrographic survey firms, Mayer & Associates Professional Surveyors, Inc. (MAPS) was founded in 2018. MAPS specializes in hydrographic, and topographic surveys as well as consulting. MAPS goal is to provide accurate products in the best end user format for clients with stringent project demands. To meet these project requirements MAPS highly trained staff utilizes the latest hardware and software coupled with in-house developed processes for enhanced end user products.

The Owner

Tim Mayer began his surveying career in 2004 building communities and roadways in South Florida. In 2009 he graduated the University of Central Florida earning a Bachelors in Engineering Technology with a specialization in Geomatics. Returning to the profession, Tim pursued his career in surveying as his project locations led him across the Eastern United States. Having performed almost all types of surveys ranging from large scale boundary surveys to unexploded ordinance surveys he discovered a predilection for hydrographic surveying. He began honing his skills working on, leading, and managing hydrographic projects in Florida, the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, Central America and the North Eastern United States. He earned his Professional Surveyor & Mapper License (LS7022) from the State of Florida in 2015. Having recognized a shortage of qualified hydrographic surveying firms he founded Mayer & Associates Professional Surveyors, Inc. (MAPS) in 2018. In 2020 he gained his hydrographer certification (CH332) from the National Society of Professional Surveyor’s/Hydrographic Society of America, making him one of only a handful of surveyor’s in the U.S. who is both a licensed professional surveyor and a certified hydrographer.
